The first meeting of representatives of PATLIB centers

On 25 April, in Vilnius, the first meeting of the representatives of State Patent Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania (SPB) and PATLIB (Patent Library) centres of the Military Science and Technology Library of the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, National Innovations and Entrepreneurship Centre (NIVC) of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and Vilnius University (VU) took place.

During the meeting, Žilvinas Danys, Deputy Director of SPB coordinating the activities of PATLIB centres emphasized the objective of PATLIB centres: providing industrial property information services, education and raising awareness of the industrial property protection system, and cooperation opportunities. The representative of NIVC presented their first performance results, which included a large number of provided services related to registration of industrial property, consultations on search for patents, gaining access to public databases, presentation and publication of a 2D animated video about the industrial property protection and functions performed by the centre as well as a variety of events and workshops.

 

The PATLIB Network continually expands.  In 2017, 3 PATLIB centres were established:   National Innovations and Entrepreneurship Centre of Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuanian university of health sciences, Vilnius university. At the moment, there are 5 PATLIB centres in Lithuania.
