World Intellectual Property Organization Schoolchildren’s Trophy

On December 18th, Kaunas University of Technology Gymnasium student Ms Gabija Jurkevičiūtė was awarded by the Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis with a World Intellectual Property Organization Schoolchildren’s Trophy.

The award ceremony took place at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and was a part of the broader award ceremony dedicated to schoolchildren who have participated at international olympiads and competitions, and their tutors.

The work of Ms Gabija Jurkevičiūtė – “Effects Of Itaconic Acid On Neurons‘ Vitality“ (research supervisor Dr. Paulius Čižas) was selected during the EU young scientists national competition phase by the assessment commission led by the SPB. The work was recognized as the best taking into account the criteria of the proposed technical solution, its innovativeness, creativity, practical application, completeness and consistency.

Works of Lithuanian schoolchildren were nominated for the WIPO Schoolchildren’s Trophy for the second time.
